Angels Of Allah(SWT)
Bismillah Hirrahman Nirrahim
Angels ' The Mala ikah'
Angels are a special creation of Allah(SWT). They have been created from
light(Nur) to perform specific duties. Angels have been given the
qualities and powers necessary to carry out their duties, but they do
not have free will. They always obey Allah(SWT) and can never disobey
Him. Man, on the other hand, has been given free will to choose between
right and wrong. This is why man will have to account for his actions on
the Day of Judgement.
Angels are the sinless servants of Allah's will. They help men in the
use of free will. Man decides what to do and the Angels help him carry
out the decision. The duty of Angels is to glorify and praise Allah.
They are incapable of disobeying Allah's order. They never get tired.
They do not need sleep and they do not require worldly things that a
human being would need.
There are many Angels in the Kingdom of Allah(SWT). Prominent among them are:
Jibra'il or Jibril (Gabriel) : Conveys the message of Allah to the prophets and to certain others.
Mika'il or Mikal (Michael) : Controls the rain.
Izra'il or Malakul Mawt (Azrail) : Also called as 'Angel of Death'. Who is supposed to remove the life from the living at the time of their death.
Isra'fil : In charge of the trumpet which will be blown on the last day and at the time of the resurrection.
Some Angels are busy recording all that we do and they are:
Munkar and Nakir: Their duty is to question the man after death about their actions while they were alive.
Raqib and Atid: Raqib records the virtuous actions and Atid records the vices of men when they were alive.
Ridhwan: Looking after the paradise and taking care of the people in it.
Malik: Looks after the implementing the punishment to the wrong deeds at the hell.
The above names of the Angels and their duties should be known to every
Muslim. There are a number of different types of duties carried out by
the Angels according to the orders from Allah(SWT).
