Nuh Alaihissalam (Noah)

Bismillah Hirrahman Nirrahim

Nuh Alaihissalam (Noah)

After many hundred years passed after Adam and the earth was filled with his children, they forget the Allah(SWT) and started worshiping idols. They became very greedy started lying, cheating and stealing.

Prophet Nuh's generation inhabited the valleys of Tigris and Euphrates in Mesopotamia (Iraq). Nuh's generation had lost faith and abandoned themselves to evil. They rejected the message of previous messengers sent to the world.

Allah(SWT) sent Nuh(PBUH) for those people to bring them back to worship Allah(SWT). Nuh invited the people to come back to Tawhid. He asked them to stop idol worship which was ruining them. He warned them about the Day Of Judgement (7:59-64).

Prophet Nuh tried his best for many years to guide his people to worship Allah. But they would not listen. They laughed at him, mocked him, despised him and called him crazy and a liar (26:105;45:9).
He took individuals into his confidence and spoken in public but all in vain. Even his Son and wife didn't believe in him.

Prophet Nuh lived for 950 years (29:14). But during this long period time only few responded to his call. He became so displeased with the stiffness of their opposition to the truth, he ultimately prayed to Allah(SWT), " O Lord, leave not upon the land any one from the unbelievers"(71:26).He cried unto his lord saying, "I am vanquished, so give help"(54:10). He Also prayed to Allah(SWT) to save him and his followers (26:118).

Allah(SWT) accepted Nuh's prayers and asked him to build an ark. Prophet Nuh started to build the ark. It was not an easy task but prophet Nuh persevered (11:37). When the people saw prophet Nuh building the ark they laughed at him and thought that he must have gone mad. They could not see the reason for building so huge ark hundreds of miles away from the sea(11:37). It was Allah's plan to cleanse the whole land of unbelievers except the one's who believed and helped Prophet Nuh.

If the people had taken the message in the right way. The rain would have been a blessing  to them, they took it in the wrong way and the rain was a curse to the them, for it flooded the country and drowned the wicked generation.

In the larger plan, it was a blessing all the same for it purged the world and gave it a new start morally and spiritually.

                                                          Jazakallah
