Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) - The birth and the early life
Bismillah Hirrahman Nirrahim
Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
Muhammad sallalaahu alaihi wasallam peace and blessing of Allah be upon
him was a symbol of light and guidance for all time and for all people.
He was the last messenger of God to humanity, the seal of prophets. To
the oneness of God he called ' La illaha illallah muhammadur rasoolallah
' : There is none worthy of worship except Allah, Muhammad is the
messenger of Allah. This is the life and message of Islam.
Muhammad (PBUH), the last prophet was born in desert land of Arabia
almost 600 years after Isa (Jesus) (PBUH) in the city of Makkah. Located
in a deep valley surrounded by a certain of black and brown jagged
mountains.
Muhammad (PBUH) was an orphan. His father had died before he was born.
By the tender age of 6, his mother Ameenah also died. He was left all
alone to be brought up by his grandfather Abd al -Muttallib and later
under the care of his paternal uncle Abu Talib.
Makkah was an important and famous city, primarily because within it
stood the holy Kabah, the first house ever setup for mankind to glorify
the one true God, constructed some 3000 years earlier by the prophet
Ibrahim(Abraham) with the help of his first son Ismail (Ishmael) peace
be upon them. It was here in this deserted and barren valley that
Abraham, According to Divine Will, had settled his wife Haajar (Hajar)
along with their child Ishmael. So it was that with the passage of time
Makkah gradually become a city of pilgrimage and flourishing centre of
culture and trade. Muhammed(PBUH) was a direct descendant of Ibrahim
through Ismail, belonging to the noble and renowned family of Bani
Haashim.
As a shepherd boy, Muhammad(PBUH) used to tend the sheep and goats around the hills of Makkah, in the bright burning sun. A familiar training it seems , for those destined to fulfill the role of Prophethood.
Inshallah in next blog we will know more about our Prophet
